Network Support Engineer
Role Overview:
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) networking,
including VPC, VPN, Firewall, and Load Balancing.
Key Responsibilities:
● Design, implement, and maintain complex GCP network architectures, ensuring high
availability, security, and performance.
● Configure and troubleshoot VPC networks, subnets, route tables, and firewall rules.
● Deploy and manage VPN connections (Cloud VPN, VPN Classic) to establish secure
network connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments.
● Implement and optimize load balancing solutions (HTTP(S) Load Balancing, Network
Load Balancing) to distribute traffic efficiently.
● Configure and manage Palo Alto and Fortigate firewalls, including rule creation, policy
enforcement, and threat prevention.
● Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization
strategies.
● Collaborate with security teams to ensure network security best practices are followed.
● Stay up-to-date with the latest GCP networking technologies and trends.
Required Skills and Experience:
● Strong understanding of GCP networking concepts, including VPC, subnets, route tables,
firewalls, and load balancing.
● Hands-on experience with Palo Alto and Fortigate firewalls, including configuration,
troubleshooting, and security policies.
● Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation and configuration
management.
● Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
● Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
● GCP Certification (preferred).
Additional Qualifications (Optional):
● Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
● Knowledge of network security protocols (IPsec, SSL/TLS).
● Experience with network automation tools (Terraform, Ansible).
Additional Considerations:
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related
field.
● On-Call Availability: May be required to provide on-call support outside of regular
business hours.
